The popular portable RAL D2 Plus portable colour fan has been updated and the new, improved edition is now available. The colour fan contains all 1,825 colours of the RAL DESIGN SYSTEM plus range with easier portability and colour search functionality than previously. The RAL D2 plus colour fan deck is supplied in a protective box, colours are printed on semi matt paper. The fan size is 5.0 x 29.0 cm and the colour area is 5.0 x 2.5 cm with nine colours shown on every page.
In response to user feedback RAL have redesigned the format of the RAL D2 fan to improve durability with a heavier weight paper. The new version also improves the colour search function, the colour name is now printed in English rather than German, page numbers are included, and a colour number index at the front of the guide provides the page number. Translations of the colour names are provided in German, Russian as well as Chinese on the back of the colour.
Colours are displayed on 225 pages in colour circle order and are organised systematically into 40 separate colour palettes. Each colour palette is based on a colour (hue) located on the colour wheel between 0 and 360 degrees. Colours of the same hue are arranged in the RAL D2 from light achromatic to dark chromatic. All colours are labelled with the HLC code normally used in RAL DESIGN SYSTEM plus.
The ability to quickly locate and combine colours with the same hue, lightness and saturation provides architects, designers, manufacturers and craftsmen with significant benefits – in the design studio, at the first client consultation or on construction site.
Please Note: The colour RAL 220 80 05 Pastel Blue has been renamed to RAL 220 80 05 Frost Grey Blue due to an overlap with a RAL CLASSIC shade.
The quality of the coloured area will deteriorate with age and handling especially if left open exposed to light and dust in the environment and so this product should be replaced regularly.
If your studio needs larger pieces of all the RAL Design colours to complement to D2 fan then RAL D6 Plus provides A6 sized cards stored in a protective box.
Once you have a colour scheme larger (A4) samples can be purchased for client to try on the wall or wrapped around product.
