The Munsell Neutral Value Scale Matte M50135 can be used for instrumental calibration, imaging testing or as a reflection standard.
A common use is to determine the correct level of neutral grey paint for use in rooms where colour assessment takes place or in rooms for photography, imaging or indeed in cinemas to provide a background colour which does not distract the eye from the screen or the product.
This is a standard grey scale with values 0.5 to 9.5 in quarter step intervals. Munsell notation and % reflectance for CIE Illuminant C are supplied for each step on the scale.
