Not a snag in sight!
Evaluate fabrics for pilling effectively whilst mounted on a Martindale head using the VeriVide Pilling Assessment Viewer (PAV) , set to the industry standard of CIE D65 artificial daylight. Accurate pilling assessment under BN EN ISO 12945 standards, as specified by major retailers
The Pilling Assessment Viewer (PAV) has been developed to adhere to all three parts of BN EN ISO 12945 standards and is ideal for assessing pilling on fabrics and garments.
The Pilling Assessment Viewer accepts the modified Martindale specimen head, enabling the fabric to be assessed while still mounted on the head.
PAV conforms to all three parts of EN ISO 12945 and test methods:
• Part 1: ICI Pilling box method (BS 5811)
• Part 2: Modified Martindale method (SN 198 525)
• Part 3: Atlas random tumble method (ASTM D 3512-96)
Other test methods can also be viewed, including those specified by major retailers.
The PAV uses VeriVide’s CIE D65 Artificial Daylight, as specified by the ISO 12945 satandard and by major retailers. Cool White Fluorescent (CWF) is also available if it is required.
In 2020 the ISO made changes to the EN ISO 12945 standards
specifying that the PAV unit must be:
– Illuminated using artficial daylight D65 lamps – in accordance
with ISO 3668 that specifies a CIE D65 light source must be
used.
– And have a brightness of at least 600 lux to give a uniform
illumination over the surface of the viewing apparatus.
To meet the requirements, VeriVide developed its own true CIE rated
D65 lamp. These are available directly from VeriVide or through our
Official distributors.
It’s important for customers to check what lamps they are currently
using and update to the latest lamp requirements as soon as possible
to ensure test standards are met.
