In their 20th February 2017 (Issue 615) edition, Grazia did a great piece on how the Pantone Color Institue can help you keep on trend. If you didn’t get chance to have a read or grab a copy yourself, don’t fret, as we have you covered.
First things first, who are Pantone?
Is this the first time you have heard of Pantone? Pantone is renowned worldwide as the authority on colour, providing essential colour systems and innovative technology for both the selection and accurate communication of colour across a wide range of different industries. The Pantone name is known globally as the standard language for colour communication from designer – manufacturer – retailer – end customer.
Pantone are very trendy…
Want to know what colours are on trend? Along with being the standard language for colour, Pantone can also tell you what colours are on trend and why. Each year they nominate ‘Color of the year’, which takes into account many different factors from the following year. Greenery was nominated as being ‘Color of the Year 2017‘ and (for the first time ever) two colours, Serenity and Rose Quartz were nominated as being ‘Colors of the Year 2016‘.
Grazia’s article – ‘Spring Fling’
Along with nominating ‘Color of the Year’, Pantone also publish their ‘Fashion Color Report Spring’ and ‘Fashion Color Report Fall’. The Fashion Color Report Spring 2017 is out now! In conjunction with the iconic New York Fashion Week, Pantone’s ‘Fashion Color Report’ gives readers an in-depth overview of the colours that fashion designers are using in their spring 2017 collections.
Using the Spring 2017 Palette, Grazia did a great article about what health and beauty products you can buy to stay on trend
Grazia picked the following colours from the spring palette 2017:
- Pale Dogwood (13-1404 TCX)
- Hazelnut (14-1315 TCX)

- Greenery (15-0343 TCX) – Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2017
